Organization focused on AI leadership and innovation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, based in Silicon Valley
Inspiration at Santa Clara University: Sharing "AI L4IR" with the Next Generation
This week I had the pleasure of delivering a couple of talks at Santa Clara University in the heart of Silicon Valley. I was invited to speak to students in Professor Mike Smith’s business school classes about my book, AI L4IR: Leadership and the 4th Industrial Revolution.
I walked the students through where we’ve come from—the foundational technologies and societal shifts that set the stage for today’s AI explosion—and then looked ahead to where things are rapidly heading. We explored the profound implications for leadership, industry, ethics, and human potential in this new era.
The students were fantastic. They were highly engaged, very inquisitive, and full of energy. The lectures and lively back-and-forth conversations were excellent. This group, upon graduating, will step directly into the AI tornado that is sweeping through Silicon Valley. Now is the perfect time for them to absorb and experiment with AI as much as they can. It’s always energizing to see young minds lighting up as they connect these big ideas to their own futures.
A huge thank you to my good friend and colleague Professor @Mike Smith for the invitation and for creating such a welcoming space for these discussions. His classes are clearly fostering the kind of critical thinking and curiosity that will define the leaders of tomorrow.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the @AI Institute of Silicon Valley—their work in bridging cutting-edge AI research with real-world application continues to drive AI transformations in the workplace and academia.
Opportunities like these remind me of one of the main reasons I wrote the book in the first place: to help equip the next generation—including my own children—with the mindset and tools they’ll need to work in and lead through the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Thank you, Santa Clara University! I’m excited to see what all your students will contribute next.
