For most of my life, I thought being worthy meant being busy.
Overtime. Striving. Achieving. Pushing through workouts I didn't have the energy for. Somewhere along the way, "busy" became a badge of honor I wore proudly, proof that I was disciplined, driven, good enough.
My nervous system had other plans. Eventually, it forced me to stop, whether I was ready to or not.
Looking back, never slowing down cost me more than I realized at the time. It affected my health. It affected my ability to actually be present for the people and moments that mattered most, even while I was physically there.
I won't pretend this has been a clean before and after. It's not like flipping a switch. It's a practice I'm committed to return to, again and again: consciously choosing to slow down, spending real time in nature and with friends, and slowly reframing what actually makes me feel whole. Some days that looks like saying no to the things I don't have bandwidth for. On this day it meant saying "no" to the black diamond trail, and "yes" to slowing down and hugging a tree :)
